The sources also told Bloomberg that Apple testing a new version of theiPad that has a higher resolution screen, similar to the one now used in the iPhone 4. The screen resolution on Apple’s new iPad would be about one-third higher than that of the iPad 2 and will sport a more responsive touchscreen.
The device will include the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public.Reports from various other websites have also pointed to similar details. A recent report from AppleInsider also said that Apple will begin production of its upcoming version of iPhone in August featuring the A5 processor and a high resolution 8 megapixel camera.
According to an unverified report Taiwan’s Economic Daily last week, Apple will unveil the iPad 3 later this year with an “image resolution 5-6 times higher than iPad 2″. However, the Bloomberg report did not indicate when the next generation iPad will be released.
